TRACY, San Joaquin County — October 26, 2026. Tracy has launched a new city website to help households prepare for possible heavy winter storms associated with El Niño, according to a city announcement published today, October 26.
What residents can find in one place
The city says the new emergency information hub brings together local alerts, evacuation zones, sandbag locations and flood-insurance guidance. The aim is to help residents find answers before an emergency instead of hunting for multiple agency links during severe weather or a power failure.
Tracy’s updated city website also directs residents to regional and federal preparedness information. The National Weather Service and NOAA monitor weather conditions, while city and county emergency managers issue instructions for particular locations.
Preparation is not an evacuation warning
The city is emphasizing potential flood and storm risks this winter, following statewide preparations for El Niño. That does not establish that flooding is underway in a specific Tracy neighborhood today, or that every property in the same ZIP code has the same evacuation zone.
Residents should look up their own address on an official mapping tool, sign up for alerts, review drainage near their home and consider whether flood insurance is appropriate. Homeowners and tenants should check waiting periods and exclusions with a licensed insurer. Do not drive into floodwater.
