TRACY — November 7, 2026. Caltrans plans nighttime restrictions on entrance ramps to Interstate 205 in Tracy from Sunday, November 8, through Friday, November 13, while crews carry out guardrail work.

Which interchanges are affected?

Alternating full on-ramp closures are scheduled at Grant Line Road, Tracy Boulevard and MacArthur Drive. Eastbound work may occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., while westbound work is scheduled between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. Closures are alternating rather than a guarantee that every named ramp is closed simultaneously.

How to avoid delays

Drivers should review posted advance warning signs, allow for a detour to the next available interchange and avoid last-minute maneuvers at a closed ramp. The exact nightly sequence may change because of contractor progress, traffic incidents or weather.

Separating different Caltrans projects

These I-205 closures are connected to guardrail maintenance. They differ from the announced State Route 4 full-day closure on November 15 and Interstate 580 work at Patterson Pass. Motorists should verify the specific route they intend to use with Caltrans QuickMap.
