TRACY / SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY — November 7, 2026. Caltrans has scheduled a 12-hour full closure of State Route 4 on Sunday, November 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Tracy Boulevard and the San Joaquin–Contra Costa county line.

Through traffic must detour

Caltrans says local access will be allowed, but people traveling through the corridor will need to follow a marked detour. Drivers should allow extra time, especially when heading across the Delta or planning trips that normally use Route 4.

Other nights affected

One-way traffic controls are also planned between Bacon Island/Trapper Road and Old River Bridge during the night of November 9–10, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. These restrictions are associated with the SR-4 Delta Pavement Improvement Project and may shift if weather or construction conditions require.

The official notice was published November 5. It is an advance schedule, not a report that the road is already closed on November 7. Check Caltrans QuickMap before departure and obey traffic controls rather than following an outdated navigation shortcut through a work zone.
